my 88 celebrity eurosport 2dr(2.8 v6 ) needs a new fuel pump and fuel line. I got the pump already but when i try to get the line necessary they said I need to know the inside diameter... anyone know the diameter of the fuel line? everytime i try to run a search on the forum it gets no results what so ever...

You have to bring the piece to the store to match it up, I would GUESS it is either 5/16 or 3/8 but its hard to say for sure.

Or go to a junkyard and get the entire line. Are we talking about the rubber line or the actual metal fuel line?

ahhhh, I had the same issue on my car. Its probably in one small spot. You can get a tubing cutter and remove the bad spot and replace it with a couple of brass compression(not flare) fittings and a short piece of 3/8(i'm pretty sure thats the size) metal tubing in between them. Make sure the existing fuel line where the compression fitting meets it is really clean and smooth, no rust or pitting. Crank the fittings together tight with a dab of vasoline in the brass threads(helps prevent them from stripping). Other than replacing the entire fuel line, this is the next best cheapest and safe fix.

mickstan, thank you very much!...it is a very small leak. I will try and get this done as soon as i can..

Similar to what you have posted and yeah some people might call it that. An official union is basically threaded on each end. A compression fitting will "compress" to the pipe at each end instead of needing a screw type connector like a union does.

Yes, thats it. But its double ended. Compression on both ends.
