My 88 Ciera has been running like crap for sometime now. Basically if I step on it it will stutter but if I ease into the gas I can get up to speed. It will stutter in idle with you rev the motor (in park) and will die sometimes at stop lights. It doesn't like to run when you first start it aswell (likes to die). The car will drive around town but will be scary if I need to get out of my own way as it will just stutter if I remotely step on it.

This is what I have changed (Motor is 3.8L VIN3)

Plugs, Wires, ICM, MAF, Coils, Fuel pump and filter.
ICM, Coils and MAF were taken from a running motor
The Injectors tested out at 16.2-16.6ohms

The fuel pump fixed my pressure (at 36psi now) it was 28psi and dropping before.

Looking for some suggestions before I give up and scrap it or swap in a new motor

Disable the EGR. This problem plagued more for months this past winter until it was suggested to me to try that, and I have had 0 issues since doing so. Even passed emissions with flying colors (although I have a hole in my exhaust >_____>)

It will fail the emissions test around here hands down. next.

Well, if you don't want to actually try to _test_ it out, then that's your choice. You got a suggestion from me. I never said to leave it permanately disabled. All you need to do is unhook the harness to it and plug the vacuum line to it. I just never cared to replace mine because I don't need it. If you don't want to give it a shot though, then whatever.

Yeah sounds like your gonna need to start looking elsewhere. You pretty much covered everything.

WAIT: How about the TPS sensor? Or O2 Sensor. O2 should be pretty cheap insurance.
