okay screech was kind enough to send me a pre 85 (YES YES it still has the diesel wait light and the water in fuel light :D very giddy) gs cluster but there is on problem it a forien one :(. so the speedo is a kph main (big numbers) and mph (very small number like font 10)

is there any way to take the speedo out of my cluster and the odo and place it in the gs cluster

if not of this is posable there will be a standing order for a pre 85 (just need to the diesel wait light and water in fuel light) full cluster with out the gear select indoprator.

I haven't cracked open an A-Body cluster yet, but i would think that you can interchange them so long as they are from similar years. I've done the swap on VW Golf cluster, and that was pretty easy. But, like i said, haven't done it on A-Body.

the wiring on the cluster looks just like mine (the flexy cirict board.....i needot do a close doulbe check.

what i want ot know is can i take the speedo gauge out of this cluster and put in a diffrint speedo gauge.

okay anwered my own qeustion i was able to take the speedo out. any one know how rare this metric gs cluster are.

Got any pics?? I have 4 clusters(3 in cars) and never seen a kph one. Are you sure it's not a T Type cluster? They are the same as the GS ones. If its a 85 cluster..it's not a GS cluster though. I think you can swap the faces with the US ones,but I would think it would need calibrated so the mph would be correct as the kph is surely different. Post up a pic. I'd like to see it.Does it have the tach in it?

sorry miss though it is just a t type cluster

i figured out how ot get it apart. so for all you guy out there the tach and speedo are on unit.

okay got my cluster out today and stuck the other on in only the fuel gauge worked and no lights worked :(

best guess is im lacking some wires and i need rewire the conecters. dont think i want ot dig into that ot much. so i just swaped out the gear select for the "century" backing plate that when there and called it good
