So,today it was sort of nice out and I was messing with #4 GS and started looking at paint and the wheels. I got out some almost gone wax and tried to polish it up a little to see what it should look like.I then waxed 1/2 of the top and the passenger 1/4.Then I started to look at the wheels. I would really like to have another set of stock wheels, but I may have to use the wheels on the car instead. Or....I can swap them to the spoked wheels that came on my #2 GS.I would like you to help me decide as to what I should do. The tires need replaced and I will buy new when ready.size are P205/60/15's. Here's the deal now.
option 1..get these rims re-clear coated then use them.1 has a small amount of curb rash, otherwise decent shape except clear needs redone

option 2... take these wheels currently on the car, and have them blasted/powdercoated black and use them.

option 3 sell the wheels in option 2 and let someone else deal with cleaning them. They would look better on my car anyways.

Option 4..wait it out to see if more stock wheels show up and go that route selling both option 1 and 2 wheels altogether. I am not thrilled with aftermarket rims as it is,but the availability of stock rims are low.

I wouldn't know what to ask for either set of rims in the first place and I think the option 2 wheels stick out close to the wheelwells more than I like. I also don't want to get other rims from another car if possible. The idea is to eventually try to have all 3 cars look alike so they can't be told apart from untained eyes. Under the hood..that's another story..
So,whats the consensus??

I like option 1, but I also like the look of the black wheels. Black wheel just look bad on a black car, imho.

Hopefully I wont offend anybody with my post, but you asked for our opinions! :naughty:

I dont like either option. I have never liked wheels like the ones on your first picture. The remind me of the 89.00 specials they have at Sears all the time. I dont like the steel AR wheels either. Those scream "Rusted out trailer park S-10" to me. Plus, the offset looks strange to me.

Personally, I would save some scratch together & get something like Mickstan has on his VR. They would look sweet on your ride too! Also, I am assuming your cars are JA2 115mm, possibly some late model Buick wheels???

No offense taken..I agree about the 2 sets of wheels (yes JA2 types),but I need to keep something for the car. I really would rather not spend money for newer car wheels as not many appeal to me.I would like to have a 3rd set of GS wheels, but that's probably going to take some time to locate some.If I can't get stock wheels, I'd like to powdercoat some wheels black as I want to tint the taillights on this car and maybe fabricate some headlight covers in black to make it really stealthy.Since my other 2 cars are more complete and original,I want to let them stock looking. This will get a L67 transplant.

Have you considered newer Buick wheels? I'm putting LeSabre T Type wheels on mine, they eve say Buick on em. I think the flat style alloy from a late 80's Regal GS mine look sharp. They sell head light covers too, I got a set :)

I liked the AR rims too when you showed us the car on the trailer, but if you are trying to make them all look alike them finding those rims will be rather difficult and probably not worth the costs

I agree with everything stated above.

I mentioned newer Buick rims too. These are two possibilities:

Regal GS

LOL Yes you hit the nail on the head I think those Regal wheels would look hot on it, if they were all polished out. LeSabre Ts are for mine :)

I just re-read your post & realized that we were thinking of the same exact two wheels! Polishing the Regal wheels had not occured to me though......that would look awesome!

I believe so, I've only taken them out of the box like twice, and they should be avalable from summit racing.

IMO aftermarket rims' only chance to look good when there is some sort of lip to them. At any rate, if your lookin for a different set, at the local JY, the last couple of times i went there, there is an early 93-96ish regal with the aluminum rims. I didnt take a very hard look at em but i think they were almost perfect.

This kind of rim :

If your interested we might be able to work somethin out

EDIT: just saw that you said you didn't want anything off another car, oops lol. Offers still here though.
