So your having a coolant problem and you go and spend money on new upgraded $40 headlights? That by the way are more than likely only going to last 6 or 8 months.
Why would you do that? And you wonder why we all jump on you like we do.

What the hell are you talking about? Did you not read the coolant thread? The FIRST SENTENCE OF IT IS A CLUE

OK, OK. Im wrong on that one then. The SS's arent as good as they used to be. Life expectancy on them is terrible now.

I've had a set of Silver Star low beams in my Cutlass Ciera for nearly a year now and haven't had any issues with them. Granted, I will say I've seen some customers at OReilly come back with some Silver Stars that have blown. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe I'm not. I just know I didn't touch the glass on those bulbs when I installed them.

Neither did I, I made sure not to do so.

I had a set of silverstars in my truck, put em in when I bought it. They would last about six monthsl. But thats roughly 80000 miles too (semi truck). So I was happy with them, and they lit up the road better than the others that I had tried.

How long would regular bulbs usually last?

Oils on skin can heat up rapidly and put stress on the bulb.

The oils on your skin boil, breaking the glass. Its like putting a drop of water on a hot light bulb, it breaks.

About 20k miles.. So much road vibration, it just kills them.

I work at a parts store, and the packages even say dont touch em. The oils cause hot spots and ruin the bulb. It true.
