sheesh you really wanna yank the engine to put a cam in! I would if it was coming out, but not just for the hell of it.

comp makes several cams for the car.

Are you sure about that? I know they support the 3800 series II and Series III.. They also support the older 3.8 and 3.0

I have never seen a cam for the 3300 Vin N, 3800 Vin C, 3800 Vin L or the 91.5-95 3800 Vin 1...

How ever the Aussies may have something that could work.. You would have to do your research tho

i was under the impression that the 3300 was a de-bored or shorter deck version of a 3.8l v6 before the 3800 Series 1?

Everytime I have to explain this it always turns into a mess..LOL

The 3800 Vin C( People call it pre series I ) The truth is there was no such thing as a series I until the Series II came out then all of the sudden the 3800 Series was now Series I ...

The 3800 C and 3800 L are more or less the exact same engine... even the heads and upper parts will change over from block to block.

The 3300 Vin N is a short deck, slightly destroked and debored version of the 3800 Vin C.. But keep in mind that the 3300 did not use a Balance shaft like the 3800...

so the 3800 Vin C 88-91, 3800 Vin L 90-95, 3800 Vin 1( Supercharged ) 91.5 - 95 are all 3800 Series engines...

In 1995 the 3800 Series II came out.. Thats when everyone started calling them the Series I ...

The 3300 Vin N ran from 89-93... The 3300 was dropped in favor of the 3100 V6

That one I can't tell you for sure.. It depends on weather or not the cam's have a different face for the cam with and without the balanceshaft... So I can't tell you if there is a difference or not..

VinC 3800 cam gear and balance drive gear are stacked on the cam. From looking at this earlier, the cam, timing chain, and both sprockets from the Vin C should work in the 3300. You might need the balance drive gear from the 3800 left on the cam as a spacer. Looked into this a long time ago at a core engine teardown area at a salvage yard.

VinC 3800 timing gears:

Don't have 3300 picture.

Hope this helps w/o further confusion!
