My friends mom just recently ditched her '94 corsica and only thing wrong with it is the transmission. $200-$300 for a good working transmission for that thing, but only thing im worried about is that it has 177,000 some miles. I think thats a lot and im pretty sure there'll be no doubters. Is this something that would be a good investment? Or should I say f*** it and stick with my older but has less miles oldsmobile?

Thanks, Nate.

Stick with your less miles olds... Olds what would be helpful, but right now we have a 96 Corsica... Won't run! these were cheap disposable cars which will nickel and dime you to death. If you can get it for cheap or free, and resell it, then maybe, or if you know someone who needs it who you like enough to do it for, but I'd take an olds anything over a corsica anyday!

if its a 3.1, then 177k isnt anything to worry about, if its the 2.2, meh, there ok.... many people have had good luck with corsicas.

1994 IS NOT a 3.1 it is the DREADED (in my mind) 3100. I would RUN AS FAST AS I COULD FROM THE 3100.

only the LIM is a problem, when fixed there great engines, internally nearly the same as our lovley 3.1 just some top end differences.

yea it was free, just sittin' at the moment. But now im wondering, if I pay $300+tax for a new tranny, and want to sell the car afterwards, how much would be a reasonable price to sell at but would profit me in the end?
