This car has had this problem since I bought it 2 years ago. It runs fine, no misses or anything, but under hard acceleration it just doesn't go. When I merge onto a freeway it feels like I'm pulling a 5000 lbs. trailer. I just recently had it tuned up with new fuel filter, plugs, plug wires and air filter. My SES light is not on. What should I look for?? Thanks!

Could be a stopped up catalytic converter .... muffler shop should be able to tell you .

I had the same thought that Grans89 had. Very likely to be a congested converter.

Not necessarily, I had a vehicle with a badly clogged Cat and the temp gauge indicated normal but boy did the power suffer. Full throttle produced less power than 1/3 throttle.:dunno:
Once I had a shop drop the converter and drive a rod thru it it ran like a tiger

Run it in the evening for a good 10 miles. Take a peak under the car, and if the cat is RED at all, it's clogged. That's what is keeping Shake n Bake off the road at the moment
