So I knew that my power locks were effed up before, but this morning really threw it off the cliff. When I let my car warm up in the morning, I make sure to hit the unlock button before I shut the door. Most of the time, that seems to help keep it from locking itself.(I also make sure I have a spare set inside my house, lol{the count of spares is actually more like five!}) This morning, on the other hand, While I unlocked it like normal, I walked about my yard for about five minutes. Then I hear it lock. All by itself. Yes, really. No one around. Might I also add that I don't even know when they are supposed to automatically lock because they have done it when I get in and shut the door, after that and before engine starting, during engine starting, after starting and before leaving, while leaving, while driving, and sometimes not at all. WTF?!?! They are as annoying as HELL!!! Please tell me there is a way to deactivate them all together, while maintaining ability to lock and unlock them with the button. PLEASE!!!

Well it sounds to me like there isnt something CONTROLING them. It sounds like there is a wire touching either ground or Power which triggers the lock. I think the cars back then were positive trigger and a wire touching power is not as likely.
May be a bad lock relay that could be causing your locks to trip at intermitent times.

Do you have a car alarm? If you do, one of the functions of the alarm might automatically lock the doors after x-time. Mine did that due to my daughter playing with the alarm remote, and some of her punches resulted in the alarm locking the doors after 30 seconds. I fixed that by disconnecting the battery for a minute and reconnect it again. Not been a problems since then (I could also have read the manual, but... lazyness got the best of me).

1) Does this car have Keyless entry or the code AU0 for Keyless?
2) Does this car have a feature when you take the car out of park the Doors lock? And when you put the car in park the drivers door unlocks?
3) Have you ever had these issues with this car before?

The factory has it setup so that they lock as soon as you put the car in gear. My first guess would be an old alarm system going nuts (if you're unaware of the car having an alarm).

Agree with 86Euro.
The vibrations from the engine might be causing a wire to move slightly, perhaps grounding on something. Does it still do it if you leave the key on, with the engine off?
My 92 does something smiilar, except its a feature (that I detest) Once its started, removing it from park causes all doors to lock. They do not unlock when placed back into Park. If you unlock them, then while the engines still been running go from park to reverse, it wont do it again until the next key-cycle.
Is there a way to disable this? I think it's a POS. If I wanted my doors locked, I would have pressed the lock button.

That's also the way my car behaved, until I disconnected and reconnected the battery. In my case it was the car-alarm. No question about it. If you have a car-alarm, it might be the same story.

WOW! Nice input.
Don, That is what I am thinking, but where?
Tuddi, no car alarm, that I am aware of. If there is, I have had no issues or reasons to think so, other than it's county car history.
Jr's 3800, No keyless, not even power trunk. Have had issues before, but escalating!
LordDurock, Yes.
CieraSL92, I completely detest the feature as well. I would like it disabled. Believe it or not, it has happened while the engine is off. Several times.

You should see what it would look like if you did have Keyless entry:D
Something in the area of that circuit is going nuts on you
