Ok, like I have said in previous posts, my car is a 91 olds cutty with about 150k on it. I have only had it for a year, so I dont know how it was treated b4 me. I have replaced the water pump, heater core, battery, and both upper and lower radiator hoses. I am looking to restore this car. Here is what I thought I could do.

New radiator,
New alternator,
New Brake Rotors, Pads, and Wheel Hubs,
New Bearings, seals,
New struts and springs,
New CV Axles
Flushing the motor and putting a synthetic blend. (Or full synthetic?)
Flushing out transmission, (or should I? with that many miles? Just service it?)

Not sure what to do with the motor though. Any help would be appreciated.

Anything else you can add? I am looking to have this car running like new again, but without (hopefully) tearing it down to tooth and nail.

This car also has sentimental value, so I am keeping it.

As for the transmission, if you don't know its service history here is what I'd do:

Drop the pan and replace the filter. Add a blend of the old fluid and new fluid back. Do this a couple times over the course of a year. GM transmissions don't like being switched straight to clean fluid from really dirty fluid.

CV Axles and alternator: I really wouldn't unless you're having trouble with them.

1. Pull Oil Pan, Inspect, & Clean...change Oil Pump with Stock Pump
2. Replace Timing Chain Set

If pulling the pan can be done, without big hassle, I would do it.

Can you pull pan on 3800 without gymnastics?
