View Full Version : right rear caliper seized

I love the smell of blue brake smoke.
It felt like I had to use more throttle than usual getting home, and by the time I got home I realized why: the right rear was seized and burning.
This caliper had been leaking a very small amount of fluid lately, and I guess now it's finally hit the shitter.
Would it be safe to run on 3 brakes for now? I highly doubt this caliper can be recovered.

All I will say is that the fronts do a vast majority of the work. It's never a good idea to recommend disabling any part of the braking system.

Obviously lol. But to get me around for the time being...hmm.

you should be find using the fronts...........remember that there under heavy braking there is the change (small but still there) that the rear will want ot come out.......and dont drive in the rain there is a high change the rear will come out.

I have a caliper, but I don't remember what side it is for. I'll take a look.

Thanks 86, lemme know. If there's any chance of a sale, I'd be glad to buy it, if you can ship it tomorrow ;)

Special order (at least in my area), so I'm just ordering a brand new one off of ebay for $80.
