Starter might have been gummed up. Maybe the vibration loosened it up?

1. Clean terminals at starter, including wires.

If further problem...put test light on "key switch wire" at solenoid.

I had this problem, mine turned out to be gummed up, so i cleaned it. funny story tho..

After i test lighted that starter signal wire, something sparked in my brain, i thought, cant i turn on the car with a switch by myself. 2 weeks later i had done it, i now start my pontiac 6000 with a button. Pointless but cool looking. Cant be stolen easy though, they still need to fire up my ignition with the key, and deactivate my immobiliser.
