Finally got around to pulling the dash to replace some burnt bulbs around the temp/fuel/volt/oil pressure area...I figured they'd be a common-type bulb, or at least something I had here in my parts department. Upon removing the cluster, I found it interesting that the digital cluster was made by Nippondenso...I guess GM figured farming that particular item out was easier than making their own...anyhow, after dissasembling the cluster & getting to the bulbs, I find a bulb/socket assy I've NEVER come across. It has a white rubberized base that accepts 2 male pins into it on the backside AND has an orange filter over the bulb. I thought I was gonna have to remove the bulb from the base & improvise a different bulb, when lo, I find a 10 yr old package of these bulbs buried in my bulb rack. HOORAY!!!! I only had 2, but now I have a number to go on to get more, since they're discontinued thru GM. The Toyota number is: 83119-24030. The only thing is that they don't come with the filters, so you must CAREFULLY remove them from the old bulbs if you want to preserve the cool amber lighting. It was just a stroke of luck I found these things, they were actually used on old Cressidas & 83-86 Camrys with a digital dash....
