Hi there!

I just recently bought a 1989 Chevy Celebrity Eurosport wagon. It's in really good shape for the year, but it does have an issue with a engine misfire after it gets warmed up. The previous owner kept good records and I can see they changed the ECM computer last year. I don't think it's had a tune-up though in some time.

Any ideas as to the possible cause of the misfire? Thanks for your time.

If it hasn't had a tuneup inn a while I'd start there and if it still does it after that let us know.

AC delco plugs and NEW plug wires. Dont mess around and half ass a tune up with just plugs. Do the wires too

Well I just had a visit from my friendly local car mechanic (they make house calls here in Hawaii) and he looked at the car with me while it was acting up. He also thought right away it was the spark plugs and wires too. He was inspecting the wires and he said they are very old and brittle and one appeared to be touching some metal on the motor.

We're changing those this week and then I'll see if the car drives any better. I'm getting a Check Engine light so he said we could check the computer codes too in case it might be a sensor issue somewhere.

I also made a huge mistake with my headliner board while trying to repair the fabric. I accidentally broke it so bad it was not usable anymore. I'm finding it very hard to find a new board around here.
