I think you might want to start buy going to a salvage yard, and buy a used ICM and coil pack set. Replace those on to your car, and try driving it again. The symptoms sound just like a ICM going faulty.

Yea id say Ignition module or crank sensor, both fail when hot.

yes it does crank when hot coil pack have been check so i was told i was reading the data base and it says that a coolant sensor could cause that my fan don't come on unless its in test mode It got to 220 f and it never did come on could this have something to do with it where is the crank sensor located i got 1 cant find it where is the icm and is there any way to check it i hate being a parts changer that's what the last 3 garages did and didnt fix it

Some parts stores can test the igntion control module, but thats still not 100% way to know its bad. You just have to eliminate the possibilties. The crank sensor is on the rear of the block, about halfway up the block, held in with one screw. The sensor pushes in and is plastic, majorly brittle over time and have been known to break, so be careful!

Dont even bother to test the ICM.. His is only failing under hot conditions. Which the tester can not duplicate. This is why I suggested a junkyard part swap. You can use the ICM and Coils from any 2.8, 3.1, 3100, 3500, and 3800 without magnavox, from 1987 all the way to 2004.
To test the cooling fan, lets make sure it works at all. If your AC works, turn on the car, and turn on the AC, the cooling fan should come on. If your AC doesnt work, take a paperclip, and put your car into diagnostic mode. The cooling fan should turn on as well. If it doesnt either the cooling fan motor is bad, or, the relay for it is.
Report back and let us know!

HOLD UP!... I would not change that crank sensor until you know for sure its bad. You need to do the other things first. And if you want, there is a cheap way to go about things here..
First, go out driving, and when it dies, open the hood, and check for spark. No spark, change ICM and Coils...
The problem is this. If you go and change your crank sensor, and it breaks, you are going to be in a world of pain.. Its a magnetic picup, and, because of heat over the years, as you try to take out the sensor, it breaks in the bore hole of the engine. and there really isnt a good way to get out whats let of the sensor. Some have dropped the oil pan, others have tried to weld something on to the end.. Either way, it just aint pretty, or easy. I am not saying this is going to happen to you. But more times than not...

mine did the same thing. it was the crank sensor. engine light would come on at crusing speed for a moment. then the car would not start until twenty minutes later. While cranking there was no gas or spark or maybe both. It was fun getting it out and the plastic was all cracked.

It's been my experience that if it dies WHILE RUNNING it's the ICM. If it just won't restart hot, it's the Crank sensor.
