So I was driving down a residential street yesterday and all of a sudden I heard a loud bang. Seeing nothing in my rear view mirror that could have caused it I pulled over and peeked under my car. To my dismay I found a mist of fuel spraying all over my under glows. Some how or another my fuel line got a tiny puncture in it. Got it towed to the Toyota Dealership I work at and was gonna hit up the junkyard today for a used one. Allegedly they have three centurys there. My buddy has a 1990 Ciera and told me about these brass splice fittings I can get from autozone. He said this had happened to him too. Apparently you just cut out the leaking section and shove this in either end of the fuel line and this apparently fixes the leak without replacing the whole line. Has anybody ever had this problem?

Your should be plastic lines right? I would just replace the entire line, its real easy being quick connects. If it was the line between the fuel filter and the tank then that comes with a new wix fuel filter. if its before the fuel filter, youll just have to replace it all. I dunno if i would trust a jimmy rigged splice

I did the splice and its holding just fine. Haha they dont teach fuel line repair in automotive college. I had to warm up the fuel lines with a heat gun to get them to expand enough to slowly slide it in. I then coated it with Toyota FPIG for a total seal. We use that for sealing oil pans and trans pans. Then I made it look nice and clean by wrapping it in electrical tape and squeezing the line tight around the splice with zip ties. That splice is gonna hold for a very long time. =)
