I can't for the life of me locate any places with 1-1 1/2 inch lower spring or struts.. Anyone have any ideas?? I am thinking that a Supercharged 3800 and a lowering will make an awesome car.My latest GS has worn out springs and sits a bit lower than the other and I am kinda liking the look..

Good luck finding them...I'd like a set for my van.

Just a thought, but you might check out the rear struts from a Fiero for the front of your GS. As for the rears, or springs, it'll just take some time going through parts catalogs.

Rear Fiero struts will actually raise the front ~1/4". I would see if Geforce still has a set of Eibach springs that he would part with. I have Eibach on my Ciera and they are a lot stiffer than the my factory FE3s.

I see two problems with the eibach springs:
1. Finding them, lol
2. From pics that have been posted previously, it appears they lower the front end quite a bit. This could be a problem for speed bumps and whatnot, especially on a car with a front airdam (ex. a Celeb VR).

I am planning to use front and rear u-van springs on my car and trim as needed to lower the car about 1inch lower than it's current height. The rear will be no problem, even with around two coils cut off, ride quality should be OK. Just stiffer and a little lower than stock. The front however, I'm not so sure about as I have never cut fronts before, so I don't know how it will effect ride quality. I would assume the u-van front coils, in stock form, will raise the front of an a-body, so I have no idea how much will need to be trimmed to lower the car. Everything can be done for cheap, so it can't hurt to try. At least with the stiffer springs, the car won't bounce and scrape over bumps, even if it's a little lower.

I don't mean to thread jack, but hey! A fellow Iowan! Welcome to the forum. I am a huge X fan too....unfortunately I had to junk my 85 X11 a while back due to rust

Back OT, I agree with Skalor, try to find a set of the Eibachs. They are unobtainium, but I think someone posted on here recently about selling a set. There used to be a fellow on here from Canada that was selling a set too....What ever you do, do not go the cheap route & cut your coil springs. A total Ricer mod and you will regret it. The car will look AWESOME lowered though. Congrats on the GS's, I love 2door A-bodies!

Did the fellow from Canada you speak of happen to be SCREECH? I was planning on buying several parts from him and never heard from him again.
So cutting front coils will suck that bad, huh? I knew it was a no-no to whack off a significant amount of the spring, but I thought I read somewhere it was OK to trim off a small amount. I guess that throws my idea out the window:(

Anyone have any part numbers for the Eibach's or ideas?? I can look around but having part numbers sure would be a great help.

Yep, it was....guess that route is out of the window. In regards to cutting the coils, every time I have seen this done it has destroyed the ride quality of the vehicle. *Might* be worth trying if you have an extra set of springs though?

So SCREECH isn't kicking around here anymore either eh? His website is www dot screech dot ws if anyone wants to get ahold of him. I'm not sure if he still has the springs, but I'm guessing that if none of you have them, he does.

OK what about an air ride lowering system if I can't locate lowering springs? Are they dependable? A POS?? Anyone ever mess with them?

Last I heard, several places still list the part number, but they don't actually have them anymore.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I can get them for cheap and instal them for nothing, just my time.

Thanks, I sent him an email. I didn't think to ask him about the sprigs though:o

I've seen the 93-96 Eibachs on Ebay still. I would kill for a older set.

OK last try..What other applications will work?? Anyone?? Are these only compatible with Ciera's,Centurys? I have a guy at a local parts place who deals with Eibach and is trying to locate some.

i know that if you can get the 93-96 set all you need to do is swap rear axles because that is the only difference between the two sets, the bottom of the spring

I have been doing some investigating and came up with this.. 244 for a set of 4 seems reasonable to me. Anyone have any opinions??

Those look good! I have an unrelated question though...what are the differences between the 6cyl & 4cyl springs?

Normally when such things are informed of, the bigger engine would require springs capable of handling more weight due to the engine weighing more than a 4 banger.

Putting springs for a 4 cylinder under a 6 cylindered car, would result in the front end hanging too low. So >>theoretically<< one could put normal springs from a 4 cylinder car on a 6 cylindered one, and thereby getting it lowered.

I don't know if the difference in weight for the 4 and 6 cyl a-body cars was big enough to justify the factory to make different springs though.

Ok, I may have a line on a set of springs. Now the $10,000 question is this, which struts and shocks work best with the lowering springs? Are the KYB's a good choice? I JUST DON'T WANT IT TO RIDE BOUNCY LIKE A RICER,PLEASE..Any other suggested types?

Yeah I was the one that posted not too long ago. I do have two set of Eibach lower springs. The newer and older style sets. The older sets are on my Eurosport as of right now.

You can see pictures from this link.
http://www.a-body.net/forums/showthread.php?t=265

I am getting the car inspected next month and as soon as it warms up I am going to start getting the car ready to be sold or parted out. I hate to let the car go but its time.. I can't let it sit anymore wasting away.

These are the parts I have in stock for the car

1.) Eibach lowering springs older style 1982-1993 (on car with all new KYB struts/shocks)
2.) Eibach lower springs newer style 1994-1996 (brand new)
3.) Addco rear-sway bar (brand new)
4.) Goodridge stainless steel brake hoses (brand new)
5.) Complete JA2/JA4 4 wheel disc brake upgrade (used parts from Pontiac 6000 STE/ and some new parts I bought)
6.) Complete Eurosport trim package from very low mile car. Black parts are still glossy!
9.) Eurosport factory lighted bar tachometers with trim (have a few)
7.) Ciera International series ground effects (black)
8.) Ciera International series center console with DIC (Gray)
9.) Pontiac 6000 S/E side skirts (white)
10.) Buick Century GS Spoiler (Black)
11.) Set of stock Eurosport springs
12.) Stock Heavy Duty Transmission cooler (from a Eurosport Wagon and its like half the size of cars radiator)

Can I get first in line? What kind of a price would you consider fair (for you) for the complete set? Handbrake cable setup too?

I have to make a decision if I am going to sell the parts with the car or just part everything out seperatly. Being I don't think I will get all that much for the car it maybe better off just parting things out. The one person that buys the car may not want/use everything. I want to make sure that these parts go to people that ARE going to use them. I made the mistake and bought everything for the car before I would complete a project. Time got away from me and it was just time to get myself something abit nicer then what my eurosport was at the time. I love the car and I still drive it when my Regal is in the shop.. but it just needs some work and I don't have the time anymore like I used too.. its such a sin because we have had my eurosport in the family since 1996 with 72K, it now has 236K.

Yeah I bought brand new E-brake cables for this setup. I also have new rear pads, rotors, and the goodridge steel braided hoses.

The used parts are the calipers, backing plates, and hubs. lines and hoses.

Ok. Put me on the list of seriously interested people for the rear brake system. I fully understand how this could be a part of a good deal to sell the car as well... so just let me know when you know how you are going to sell the things...

I have absolutely no access to any junkyards where any of those cars are, and I doubt there ever having been imported a single 6000 STE to Peru. So this would be a great opportunity for me to get good brakes.

Any price idea? You are of course welcome to drop me a PM with an offer when you know if you will be parting this out or not.

I would be interested in the #1 and #3 and #10 for sure if the lowering springs I tried ordering don't pan out. I have 2 86 Century GS's and can use any GS parts really..

I would be interested in this stuff here, and probably the whole car depending on when you sell it & how much you want !! BTW, those rims on the Euro look nice, are they aftermarket?

Do any of your tachs work without being "twitchy"?

GeforceXtreme
01-25-2008, 02:07 AM
Yeah the selling will soon come. When it gets warmer I plan to get everything out of storage and take pictures so everyone has an idea of what I have left over.

Also about the tach I have one in my eurosport that I repaired myself. I replaced it with brand new lights and as well fixed the problem with the tach not working correctly. The stock housing "screws" into the electrical board causing damage. I was able to fix this and it works perfectly. I have 1 or 2 more extra however I don't think I ever tested those. However they came from much lower mile eurosports then my first one.
