I need help again, this time, I need a picture of the Junction Block under the dash. I managed to find the short that took out the Courtesy fuse, but the Interior lights, the Seat Belt/key minder buzzer, and the radio speakers are still not working. (the horn, underhood lamp, and Headlight minder are working) I've got 3 single wire connectors disconnected that don't go anywhere, and they are Orange/Black, and 2 Pink wires. any help is welcomed!

Not sure how much help this will be, but have you checked the cigarette lighter fuse and wiring? I "borrowed" the lighter fuse for my amp wire during installation, and with that removed I noticed the interior lights and the key chime didn't work. Which was actually kind of useful as I was working on the car with the doors open and occasionally had the key in the ignition. Less battery drain and less annoying!
Speakers did work, however I also have an aftermarket stereo. Also mine is a '96 Ciera so things may be somewhat different.

Worth a shot, as it only takes a second. You could even just push in your lighter to see if it works, or plug in a cell phone charger or other 12v accessory before you go poking around the fuse box.
On my fuse panel it is a 30 Amp green fuse, located at the bottom right of the fuse box. Not sure if the Celebrity has a different layout though. Might also want to check the wiring for it as well.

In related news...
So tonight I went through a drive-thru and happened to toss my pennies into the ashtray. One of them bounced into the lighter socket and guess what happened?

(Cel phone pic, but should be obvious.)
So yeah now I'm without interior lights and chime until further notice. Would have been cheaper to just give them to Ronald McDonald or whoever...

well, i played with the Fuse Box this morning, and now the radio is FULLY Working, but I found no more blown fuses, and to add insult to injury, now the battery is too low to crank the engine! i'm going back under the dash and looking for any loose connections, bare wires, and see where those 3 unconnected wires go.
EDIT: I was wrong on one of the wire Colors, its a Gray Wire, not a second pink wire.

lol... Yeah what are the odds? Here I am trying to give advice about blown cig fuses and go and do it to my own car. Oh well, $1.78 at Wal-Mart and I have a new fuse plus four more in case I do it again.
Regarding the single wires, does your Celebrity have a trunk release switch? I'm going to guess that it might be available, perhaps the Celeb owners could chime in? My Olds didn't come with one, but I added one from a junkyard. The switch mounts next to the fuse box, and without it the hole was covered by a plastic plug. Behind that were two wires just hanging there, I think they were green and black. Those could account for two of your wires, but I'm just guessing here.

actually, the wires in question are on the driver's side of the car above the ALDL. and no, our celeb does not have a remote trunk release switch, nor the solenoid in the decklid.

I haven't poked around the drivers side much, plus my wiring has been "tampered" with due to an aftermarket keyless/alarm/remote start install. So there's a bunch of extra wires tucked under there, I only saw it once but it isn't very nice looking. So I'm afraid I might not be of much help.
I can try to get a few pictures Sunday if you want to inspect my wiring mess for clues.

the block thing would likely be above the black trim panel hiding the stuff if you've one in there, on Maxine, there's a light colored junction block that all the connectors go in, and their ends are each shaped to a specific hole on the block, but i;'m not sure if its applicable to the 89 celebrity....it SHOULD be though.

That's EXACTLY what I have! That's what I need a Picture of!

The 3 prong connector on the passenger side is for power antenna.

ok, i haven't been able to get the camera in close enough to be able to do the pictures justice, you say 1 wire is gray, 1 is orange with black stripe, one is pink? all of them are single wire connectors, nothing like a 2 wire connector? ok, each connector end corresponds to a specific shape on the junct block...when i accidentally yanked them off when working on steering column, I didnt know which place to put them....but turns out each of the connector is uniquely shaped, and that SHOULD help you put them back....if 1 wire IS gray and not brown, i;m not sure which one it goes to..by the way there is a brown with white stripe wire single connector connected to a tang on the parking brake lever...that one will give you the BRAKE light....i remember one wire also connecting to another tang on the steering column, but that one was a blue wire with white wire, a double wire thingy. so far i have not found out what the orange with black stripe connects, it is still disconnected and all the parking lights, regular lights, interior lights work...other than the phantom courtesy lamps which i've yet to find lens or bulbs around the car....*shrugs* lol.

Im confused by what the ripped wired plug goes to, lol. As for your courtesy lamps, should be one in the lower kick panels that go under each side of the floor, and the dome light. At least my 2 abodys did, but yours is alot older!

i'll try to get pictures of the wires in the area, as well as the ends of the wires.
