To my A-body brethren to the north...maybe you can offer me a suggestion. Down here in Texas, not much rust except when a battery goes south. My '95 doesn't have much left where the battery tray used to be...
In fact, the battery is facing the air cleaner! (rotated 90 degrees)
Anyone retrofit the battery tray? Is there a try that can be bolted in or...something? Can someone suggest a source? I need to find a way to hold this battery down!
Thanks,
Ken T.

Seems battery tray rust-out is really hit or miss. You can likely find a good one at the junkyard! Some cars they are spot-welded in; others they are bolt in.
I beleive all the A cars are welded, but since so many GM cars use similar batteries, you should be able to find a bolt-in one that will work.
Your old one will need to be mangled away in pieces to get it out, I bet!

Well, I can't even tell *what* used to there in the '95. The '96 seems be integrated, there's a flat area of sheet metal with a hold down for the battery; there' s no actual tray there.
I think I'll take a look at the rig in my S-10 (same battery). Mayhap I can adapt it.
