Hi all! So I wanted to put some speakers in my Cutlass that were left over from my poor smashed Subaru. They were 6.5" components, and they sound like crap. They sounded awesome in the Subie... And to top it off, it was so cold that the rear trim panel on the hatch pretty much exploded. So, now I have crappy speakers and a broken rear hatch trip panel. :( Anyhow, enough of my sob story. What I'd like to know is: has anyone installed speakers in the back hatch of their wagon? the average 6x9 has holes in a different place, because when I tried to install teh 6.5" to 6x9 adapter plates, they don't bolt right in. Any advice, especially with pics, would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks,
Nate

Maybe you could drill new holes for your aftermarket speakers into the frame at the stock location?

Sadly, the holes on the deck are so big, I can't screw in a normal 6x9. So, I may have to make a plastic adapter plate. No big deal, it's just more work than I care to do. I'll get it done eventually, and I'll let you know. If anything, I may make a few spares to help others out.
Thanks,
Nate

I'm new, and I hope no one minds the bump.
I have a '84 Wagon myself, that I'm turning into a boredom project car, haha.
I have Infinity Reference 3 way 6x9's in the back. I just have them tilted, and drilled new mounting holes. Not all on the speakers are used, but it doesn't move around, and it sounds great. Polk|Momo in the front too.

My dad have a 88 240 wagon. I installed new stereo deck with an ipod input, bypassed the stock amp and put in two new door speakers, but I am looking for a little bit more sound. I am looking for somewhere to put more speakers... Any suggestions?? Thanks...
