dead blinker

First I want to say that my first car was a '95 Buick century with a 3.1 v6. I've gone through quite a few vehicles since then and she's still in a league of her own. I drove that car (from south Florida) to California, New York, Tennessee, among other places. If only I had the money to support three cars I would go out and buy another right now. At any rate...

A friend of mine has a '95 ciera and the blinker on it is dead. IE: when the control stalk is depressed (for both turn signals, left and right) the light comes on, but it doesn't blink. I'm assuming this is a bad relay of some sort. Could someone tell me if I'm right, and if so where the relay is located...

Its a bad blinker. Which is located under the dash... Althou on a century, I dont know where its located. Its about a 3 dollar part at you local parts store. I am sure one of the other members will chime in with its location.

Well, I got the thing torn apart, but couldn't find anything that looked like the replacement flasher I got. The closest item I could find was this

It's about the same size as the replacement, but this is on the driver side of the steering column.

Nope, it will definetly be on the passengers side of the steering column. probly more towards the ashtray.

in my celeb its way in the back of the dash on the firewall(or close to it), just about directly behind the cig lighter

It's clipped to the ashtray slides on my 92 ciera. remove four screws affixing ashtray slides to dash and it comes out with the ashtray.
