Noob Needs Help.

Just bought a 88 olds ciera for $200 today. 2 door coupe. A little rusted, but not to bad, anyway it starts, white smoke come pouring out of the exhuast and it runs like crap the guy i bought it off of said when he was driving back to work 3 months ago it ran fine and then it started doing that. It only has 89,000 orginal miles on it. I has a 2.5 liter TECH-IV engine. I am wondering if the hed gasket is blown or it needs a new head. I dont wana shell out $20 for a book, so could somone please scan me a diagram of how the head go togheter?

You could pull the plugs...look at them...then do a compression check...here's the section for head (http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/0e/f5/e4/0900823d800ef5e4/repairInfoPages.htm), but look around that listing above.

Oil is usually blueish more than white. If its pure white then antifreeze if its kinda blueish then oil.
