I am thinking of buying a GM performance parts 3.4l race cam off my friend for my 3.4 bottom end that i have sitting in my garage, it's a flat tappet cam and i know i need flat tappet lifters but do you guys think i should buy new push rods and rockers to match everything up?

No need to make it such an open-and-shut case. If the cam is more agressive than the stock setup, then custom pushrods are definitely in order, moreso if you're using a higher rocker ratio. 1.6 is usually what people go with, while stock is 1.5 or so. Just be sure you don't get whileiminthere syndrome. ("Well, while I'm in there...") I know it's getting Tonglebeak a bit, since he's putting a 3400 top end on his 2.8.

Damn whileiminthere syndrome! Gets us all the time!:werd:
Two things will determine if custom length pushrods are needed. 1. if the new cam has a smaller base circle than stock AND non-adjustable rockers are being used. 2. If the cam is being used in a roller cam motor or a top-end from a roller cammed motor, due to the correct length pushrods being unavailable. Other than that, I'm a little dusty on this subject.
