Well I set out (Before I knew the STUPID red car wasnt going to start) to rebuild the fog lights on the front of the BLUE STE and make them look new again for the Red one.

I noticed a while ago the $15 AutoZone BLAZER branded foglights look VERY similar to the factory GM ones.

Here they are next to each other:

Here is the GM grill on the BLAZER light:

This is my first rendition of the "NEW" lights:

These are the GM grills on the BLAZER housing

I have since looked into keeping the GM housing and using the BLAZER guts. I will be able to accomplish this by purchasing new weatherpak connectors and pins, using my own red and black wire, and packing it into the factory housing. Which will allow me to KEEP the factory plug on the car! (I will have to put new ones on the red car but its worth it)

This will make for a MUCH more realistic "restoration"
I will post the later pictures soon.

That looks awesome!

Nice to see that GM made something on your STE pretty much hot swapable. *Points to FP thread* :) Best of luck.

It's not uncommon for OEMs to take mass-produced products, use special connectors/mountings and assign their own part #'s to them. The housings do look exactly the same. Good find!

There are a few differences really the only things that are swappable into the factory ones are the lense and reflector but thats exactly what I am doing. The factory housing is metal and the BLAZER is plastic.
