Where are you looking? The power antenna on a ciera is definitely different and not universal.

Does yours run continously if allowed to?

I asked for a part# lol, but I ordered one off ebay just for shits and giggles in hope that it works.

BTW, I yanked mine out a long time ago. Nothing like having an antenna that won't retract and just let the motor run constantly until the fuse is pulled ;)

You could have unplugged the relay that is behind the glove box. It's actually attached to it if no one else moved it.

Is the one of off ebay universal or factory ciera?

You don't know the number to your dealer to ask for the number?

That's what I had meant, yanked the relay after I pulled the assembly and happily smashed it with a hammer (then put it back in so the antenna would still pick up stations :P)

Good luck with getting that thing mounted. I have a spare around here somewhere, if I find it i'll take pics and you can see how very different it is.

The Ciera antenna has a bracket that screws on at the body and at the top it has a "clip" and a screw. Be careful when taking out your antenna. The metal fender ring and plastic piece can break very easy.

Good luck

The flimsy black plastic piece that screws onto the fender? Yeah, that never lasted long with me :(

The fender ring is absolutely ridic. You have to bend the antenna to get at the screw, or retract it (not possible if the gears broken!)

I don't have a diagram of the assembly but I've be curious to see one. My motor starting running constantly so I unplugged the relay. Meant to fix it at some point

I can't remember if I had to absolutely remove the ring or not, but I tried anyways before taking the antenna out, and of course you knwo what happened to it.

The antenna should slide out though if you yank the whole assembly. But now that I have a dead headunit it doesn't matter >:(

I've got 5 or 6 of these units sitting on my shelf if you're interested in a proper factory one. Drop me a line if you are. I will try to get a pic up in the next couple days if nobody else does.

I'll see if I can make the one I got off ebay work first.

Oh and thanks again for those mounting brackets :D

I don't think it looks like it would be hard to make that one work. Actually, I think I'll try one in my '85 camaro, as it looks very similar.
