Anyone know how the hell to make a fiero horn switch work? I put the switch into the horn lead (it's just a metal piece with a piece of plastic around it to hold it in place). If I short out the switch with my key the horn works just fine. But when I try using the horn button, it's a no go. The piece is making full contact with the horn button, because I can see the dent the switch is leaving behind on the inside of it (lol). However, horn does not work. There's no way this can't be working. The button goes firmly into place, makes full contact with the switch, and the horn is secured by metal tabs that make contact with the rest of the wheel which is obviously grounded because it works when I short it out with my key!

are the contact points clean? Perhaps you should make something new, doesn't sound too complicated. Two metal fragments touching together to complete a circut

I could, but I don't understand why the switch I have now isn't working when the horn is pressed, yet it works when I short it with a key.

Can you post some pics of the horn cap (backside) and the wire lead?

It's kind of hard to tell, but I think there is supposed to be a small spring to go along with the pieces in the first pic.

I've tried using the spring from my ciera horn lead.

I can feel the switch hitting the horn lead inside the column. The horn cap makes contact. It makes a "polished circle" where it hits the cap so I know that's making contact. If I take the cap off and touch the horn switch with my key, and ground it out, the horn works, so I know the switch is contacting the lead.

I just don't understand what's wrong.

You have a Fiero wheel in it correct? When I swapped mine I had to source the "guts" for my center cap out of a 6000 with the same style wheel/center cap as a fiero, because they have slightly different innards. I just peeled the rubber off each center cap and swapped the metal innards. And it was plug and play no problem, the wire hookup matched my my factory wire for the wheel I had. Here is a pic of the metal part from my factory Ciera wheel (exactly the same as the 6000 parts).

P.S.
I can stop by my local yard tomorrow and see if they have any of the correct center caps and pick one up for at most like $2+shipping, or just take some pics if you would like.

That'd be great :0 I'm probably going to need the wire as well since I cut my other one to get the spring off of it. Bleh :\
