...and it's got less than 100,000 miles on it to boot!! :jawdrop: PLUS it's an SL, so it's got some of the nifty upgrades, like the full gauge cluster. The ad says it has a knock in the engine, but that's just an excuse to dump something nicer in there, isn't it? :dunno: I'm sure if Tech had seen this when he was looking for parts he would have been all over this. A1...maybe you might look into this?

Looks nice, except for the seat and armrest that look unsafe to touch.

Looks like a nice Hurst/Olds in the background too.

The driver's seat looks as if someone has been shot in it, and the clean up crew never came.

But would be a fantastic deal for $50

A deposit of $500 (non-refundable) must be paid within 24 hours of the close of the auction. The remaining balance must be paid within 5 days.

That quote is from the ebay ad... would that come on top of the final price?

so if you win it for $50
you had to pay a $500 deposit??
that does not make sense
i think someone should call the dealer

I'm sure they simply don't usually sell vehicles under $500 and didn't bother changing their ad for this one vehicle. Look at all the work they put into their ad, what with the silly computerized voice announcing the year and make of the vehicle and the crazy-ace PowerPoint looking presentation. Props to them at least for not just scrapping it, though they probably would get a lot more than $50 for it as scrap.

Judging by the interior, I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume that in this case "less than 100,000 miles" REALLY means "the car has a 5-digit odometer".

Not trying to sound racist here, but....

It looks like it was owned by a black guy, you know, the guys that wear their pants around there knees. And that looks like a bunch of butt juices.

It could have been owned by a very large man, and that is just that sweat from the exercions of him eating his drive thru food, and getting in and out of the car.

Nice car, but man, that interior is going to be hard to replace, not to mention it still needs a motor.

i really didnt see anything wrong with the inside

could just be water

Yikes on the interior. I might bid on that.....need the wife's permission first though

If the choice is between butt juice or water.... I'd have no problem defining it as NOT being water.

Did someone from here buy it??

02-26-2009, 10:36 PM

Read the Fine Print....

Mid States Auto Sales is presenting a 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass. This Olds is in Fair to Poor condition. The V6 engine is running, but it is not sounding good. There is a knock coming from the engine. The automatic transmission is shifting from gear to gear with no problems. All the windows are working, but the rest of the interior is in fair condition. The exterior is also in fair condition, the paint is faded with a few dents here and there.

for 150 bucks sounds good to me, a knock in the engine could be a bad lifter to a bad tensioner/idler pully to an exhaust leak
