i dunno bout that. identity crisis? maybe. one of few made? maybe not. one on none made seems more like it. looks like a dressed up, (not so well, i may add,) gl. the chipping paint that looks like it was done in the backyard, the dual outlet exhaust bumper, with single exhaust car. i think this guy is trying to blow smoke up everyone's ass, because as far as i know, there hasnt been a hurst olds since the 80's. at least definatley not in 2002. you decide. please tell me if im wrong, but i did some research, and found absolutely nothing on a hurst alero. thoughts? should i report it?

edit: also, 6 grand for an 02 alero with 109k?! yeah right

I really like the rear bumper with the dual exhaust cutout, but only one side has the exhaust. LMAO!!

It could have been a dealer add-on, before it was purchased by the original owner. The Chevy dealer near me used to do that with Cavi's and Monte Carlo's. Stripes and GFX and nothing more.

That's what i call a "tape and badge" job. The single exhaust (with a dual outlet bumper), the fact there is NO interior mention of the "package" (most H/O's that i remember have some kind of mention on the interior), and the total lack of ANY kind of documentation tells me MAJOR FRAUD. I don't believe dealers did a package with a body kit like that, usually just the decals, and i'm not really sure if Oldsmobile had the rights to the "Hurst" name to use on cars in 02. I remember the ones back in the late 60's were sent TO Hurst to be modified, I don't know about the ones in the 80's.

Of course, i could be wrong about the whole dang thing...

This is what I am thinking. Kind of like the old "Twister" Mustangs, but lame.

lol dealer add/on MAYBE, but i doubt it with the bodykit and lack of any interior modifications whatsoever. as far as i know, hurst sold to another company in the 90s sometime (i think) which would remove the rights from GM. what did you ask him, T5258?

edit: 3 bids on it now, up to 1,025

Oldsmobile actually did a Hurst concept car, but it was an Intrigue, not an Alero. A member on realoldspower recently won this from a GM auction.

As far as the eBay mock-up, that looks like some Monte Carlo wanna-be & I swear I've seen that body kit on the internet. Edozone?

Since he was claiming it was collectible, I asked him if there was any documentation to back up his claims....also if it had any type of Hurst shifter (obviously it doesn't looking at the pics)...just kind of played Mickey the Dunce to see what he had to say about it. No response...yet....

Here's the answer I got....really adds a lot of credibility to his claims....NOT!!!!!

"I bought the car used from a dealership, I didn't get any kind of documentation from them but I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard to get. I do not believe it has a hurst shifter"

Right....I've got some oceanfront property in Nebraska for sale, too......all I can say is::wtf:

I do not believe it has a hurst shifter

Hah! I KNOW it has absolutely NOTHING to do with beliefs. If it has a Hurst shifter, it does. If it doesn't, it doesn't. No belief needed at all. The least he could have said, and come through honestly, would have been: "No, it does not have a Hurst shifter, I have driven this car, and it does absolutely not have it."

Trying to walk around the hot pot, using words as "I do not believe.." says more about him and his claims than anything else.

Fraud.

To continue my previous post....It seems like GM could do no wrong from the late 40's till the early 90's....I have a theory for this: In each decade between 1940-1990, there was ALWAYS at least one division of GM that "got it". The late 40's were Olds; the new V8 etc...50's were a toss-up between Cadillac & Chevrolet...Chevy for perfecting the small-block, and Cadillac for wretched excess (fins, etc). The 60's...GTO, need I say more...70's Olds again...they sold like a zillion Cutlasses damn near every year....80's would have to go to Pontiac & Buick...Turbo V6's & "we build excitement" are good...I'd give the early 90's to Saturn, just 'cause....just one man's opinion anyhow.....

a hurst edition with stock wheels, engine and auto trans

After the Cutlass line was split between the front-wheel drive A-body Cutlass Ciera and the rear-wheel drive G-body Cutlass Supreme in 1982 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldsmobile_Hurst/Olds), GM again offered a limited-edition Hurst/Olds - it was the 15th anniversary of the first Hurst/Olds introduced in 1968. The Hurst Lightning Rod floor shifter was introduced in the '83 H/O. For its 15th Anniversary Edition, the '83 H/O came only in black with silver rocker panels. Chrome 15" wheels fitted Goodyear GT tires, and a power bulge hood and rear spoiler gave the car a purposeful look. A modified version of Oldsmobile's 307 CID V8 was installed, along with 3.73 gears and Hurst's radical Lightning Rods shifter
