Hi,

There's an eBay (USA) seller that lists that service. His id is: factoryradios

I am pretty sure that Mickstan & Turbokinetic have both done that mod. I considered it for a while, but went back to my vintage aftermarket stuff......

Hi Electra,

See this ebay item: 190313957773

It is not your radio but is being sold by the guy I mentioned. You may find what you need in his listings, or you may want to contact him for adding the feature to your radio.

Wow, they really are driving the price of that deck up!! I see those frequently in the Jyard, maybe I should start picking them up! I do like how he ran the AUX out the back of the radio....looks far less tacky than out the front. Some of my older Blaupunkt decks have the same feature.

It was me. I'm on call this week and can't make a lengthy reply - but see this page. You should be able to mod your own. Someone else has also done it. I've never seen their diagram but they make an aux input with no relays. Can't remember who it is at the moment.

Thanks but I searched the forum and found out it is Mickstan I was thinking of, although I had forgotten that you did that too.

Hi Electra and Turbokinetic,

I see the link provided, but I don't see how that allows an MP3 player input device. I'm off to search for the exact mod now.

I found this 3.5mm Ipod device for installing on GM radios - listed at eBay Canada:

What do you guys think?

This website has A LOT of ways to get iPod hooked up to your car stereo, but very expensive!

The connector is soldered to the cicuitry so when you have it plugged in its fooled into thinking the a cassette is in the player.

I see. Well it sounds like a modified radio is the most convenient approach. I'm still wondering if anyone has had any experiences with the equipment I linked-to above.

Electra T Type, did you get a response from either eBay vendor on the cost to modify your own radio. I had asked one of them, I think the one whose ID I shared with you, but never got a response.

I'm interested in this exact same MP3 mod. Maybe we could find a write-up on the internet? I'm not sure how the one turbokinetic (David) has up on his site would work - it looked like a mod for some other change in the radio (am I wrong about that?)

$45 + shipping both ways, and he'll repair the backlighting if out aswell.

Just out of curiosity more than anything else, have you thought of getting an i-tripp (they make generic ones for other MP3 players as well).... those things that use an unused radio station to broadcast your MP3 player.

you guys can get converters that take speaker wire signals and turn them into AUX cables......
