Well this sucks! I just recently purchased this car from another member (Oklahoma), and intended to restore and modify it, but the economy has caught up with me and i just don't have any money to spare (Actually, i need some :eek5:). So, i'm forced to sell off some projects and parts. So, here is the 6000.

Its an 86 STE in actually pretty great shape considering the miles. The car is bone stock, with a 2.8L MPFI V6 and TH125C 3 speed trans. These have 360K miles on them, but function fine. The engine needs a timing light put on it to get it set right, and has low compression on one cylinder. I intended to replace the 2.8 with a 3.4 from a Camaro, and use the HO heads and intake off the 2.8 as an easy performance swap. The car has been swapped over to r-134a but currently has a leak i cannont find and needs freon charge.

All sorts of stuff come with the car, including the original STE accesory kit and sunroof bag, and original owners manual. I received a WHOLE LOT of maintenance document from Oklahoma. The car has some extra STE badges, and will come with FIVE STE wheels with center caps, the 4 on the car having practically new tires. There is a working compressor for the ERC installed out back, and new air lines and air shocks come with the car but are not installed. Power windows up front work, rears aren't operating, there are spare switches in the trunk, so it may be that don't know.

I've replaced the thermostat to 180 degree failsafe type, and replaced the coolant temp sensor to get the SES light to go away. The exhaust is practically new. I have a clear title in hand, ready to go. Have any questions, please ask. I hate to sell it, but i have to quick! Here are a few pictures:

I'm looking to recoup my money plus the extra stuff i've thrown in, so looking at $450. I'll throw in my extra STE parts (complete digital gauges and A/C controls, along with the computer, for an extra $50). Drop me a PM if you're interested. I WANNA SEE IT GO TO A GOOD ENTHUSIASTS HOME!! Thanks guys!

The future owner of this car also gets another stack of service records, which the original owner (who lives in my town) gave me the other day.

I'm sure some of us want it, myself included. We just don't have any money...

Believe me I'd gladly take it, I just have no room right now for another car and no way to tow it back up here if I did have the room :\

How did the previous owner burn such a large hole in the middle of the driver's seat? I've never seen that before.

Must have always put something between his/her legs that wore that spot out.

those seats have worn fairly well for 300k. mine were well shot after 206k when i got it.

Yeah, the whole car is suprisingly unworn for having 360K miles on it. From what i can gather, the original owner must have never carried anyone in the car but himself. The other seats are pristine!

The original owner was a guy in his mid 50s or so; wife but no kids. He was a programmer for IBM, I think. Everything in his house was old but clean and in perfect shape... kind of a reflection of this car. After putting 360k on the car by himself, the only reason he sold it to me was because his father could no longer drive and so he got his dad's Blazer. If you go back and look through all the service records, you can see he put alot of money into this car. He really liked it. Every time I look at that stack of service records I'm reminded of how well taken care of this car was and it makes me want it back...
