Something doesnt sit right with me about the front clip. I coulda sworn they quit using sealed beams in 85-87, somewhere in there. And The first thing I would have to do to it is take it to the dealer and the the speed density program put in..

Other than that looks sharp and clean. Carfax shows a good report on it too..

Im thinking that regular Cieras and possibly Centuries went further with the split headlights, just recently too from looking at other A bodies. I looked at this sale earlier this morning and forget the year.

Still with all that... a carraige top ? That right there is a bloody shame, there should be laws about putting those things on cars... if you want something that looks like a vert... PAALEEZE get a vert, we have the mid-late 70's Seville to thank for those things, I could deal with a vinyl top but NOT a carraige top, awkward, bulky, phony... different but the same degree of cheeze as ricer GFX's and wings.

'88 was the last year for Centurys.

Yep,the Century was the last one to change to composite headlights...beginning in '89. The Ciera went to composite in '88.

That car is not too far from me. Maybe an hour and a half south.

It's a perfect turbo candidate.

But another white with blue int Century?? My '87 Cent looks just like it....except for the wheel covers and UGLY top.

Yeah, the top is ugly, imho. They should have removed it when they repainted the car.

What's next??! A continental/fake wheel on the bumper kit? !!

High Mileage, pretty sure the 1987 Ciera GT had the composite headlights right before the 88 model year got the composites with the horizontal slatted grille, there was a horizontal slatted grille with seled beam headlights on the 87 cieras, but the GT had the horizontal slat grille, and composite headlights....the 86 had the sealed beam heads, and i believe the 86 grille for that year was pretty standard eggcrate-ish? 88-96 had the vertical slatted grilles...at least, thats from what i can remember of my junkyard trips and pictures of certain cieras....

Yep,it sure looks like the '87 GT was an exception to the rule. I just found one on car domain. Sure enough,it's got composites. I stand corrected.

I'm not up to date on my Ciera grille trivia. ...but I'm not a big fan of the egg crate design. My '90s have the vertical bars.

I'd sure like that '88 Cent in that ad. But for the $$,I can do a decent swap in one of the 4 A-bodies I have already.

<sigh> One day I'll get my '87 Eurosport back. It has been in a custom paint/resto shop for almost 7 (yes, seven) years. The last I saw it,it was almost back together except for the interior, header panels, rear window, valence, trunk lid, front fenders..... ugh. At least the engine bay is put back together! ...and it runs.

ya gotta have a continental kit when your stylin with the carraige top

I actually like continental kits on the luxury cars, reminds of the pimpmobile 70's... lol

I dont think you can remove those tops, I believe they put holes through the roof, I could be wrong

I thought I have seen a few 88 Cieras with the sealed beams while recently searching autotrader for GT's or even coupes, seems like there just arent any. But maybe I was searching Centurys and thats where I saw the sealed beam '88's. No Centurys coupes either in Autotrader. Didnt the coupes have more serious door hinges problems ? Maybe too much flex in the chassis ? Seems I heard that once, its not the most rigid unibody in the world.

I have to admit the car would have more going for it if painted FERN GREEN - especially nice would be light fern green with dark fern green vinyl top. Also fern green interior of course. I have yet to see one set up that way (on an '88 Century) - but did come across a nice two-tone fern green pontiac 6000 - it was an 84 or 85 dark fern green on lower body - about up to the door handles, and light fern green on top. Fern green interior too. It was a Wally's Auto Salvage in Oshkosh, WI.

Not very well at the moment...Long story short,I need a MAF sensor. I can't seem to find a used one anywhere. For now though, I have Shake n Bake in the garage so at least it won't be sitting outside until I get around to fixing it
