Looking for a known good 440t4 tranny from an '88-'89 model year. It probably needs to be from a Celebrity Eurosport because I'm looking for the 3.33 final drive and the square electrical plug. I'm wanting to put one in my '86 Eurosport 4door that currently is a "full manual 440t4". In other words, it's shot and I can't believe it has lasted this long, lol.

You don't have a shop locally that will build one for you? I was able to get a hold of a place in Phoenix that built one mostly to my specifications. Only "problem" was that they gave me the opposite chain ratio I wanted—I told them to overdrive it, and they underdrove it. So I have a 3.73 ratio in the wagon! If you want to give them a try, they're called 1Stop Transmissions, and they're now located in Peoria, AZ. The trans itself was $600, but I had to buy a torque converter too (>$90) and a $250 core. I also had them do a shift kit for $125, which is probably overpaying a bit, but whatever. So for $1100 - 250 = $850, I got a pretty damn good unit. And I'd say that's a good price since it was basically a custom-built unit.

I've got a local shop that I deal with that I also trust very much. I also have a rebuildable tranny and a rebuild kit already, I just didn't want to spend several hundred on the car right now because I'm not certain what powertrain will end up in this car later on. The last two good used Celeb trannies only cost me $85 and $90 delivered to my shop, but unfortunately, that yard hasn't had any lately. Oh well. The car also needs all new brakes, and probably a couple new tires (17's too) due to sitting, so that will be more $.

Still looking if anybody happens across one, even if it means driving a little ways.
