Obviously not an a-body, but a closely related rare find in this condition:

1987 Pontiac Grand Am - $1700 (South Huntsville)

    http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/3392736209.html

I am selling a 1987 Pontiac Grand Am. This car has been in our family for over 20 years. It has been garage kept and has only 44,700 miles on it. It is white with gray interior. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to see the car. (256)503-xxxx Rob

And that Grand Am is in damn fine shape. I want that, too!

I'd rather drive a cobbled together rustbucket Ford than a brand new Chrysler anyday.

My dad had a 1989 Grand Am with the 2.5 growing up (about 10 years ago). It was my first car I drove on a public road...at 9! It was a good car for the most part; he did have to put a transmission in it when he first got it at 100k+- miles. It wasn't an exact match, which caused shaking problems...but it cost all of $450 to replace, parts and labor included. After further dealings with said mechanic, we have reason to believe that he buying stolen parts.

It was shaking really bad at 160k miles and barely running and my dad sold it instead of tuning it up.

I'd like to have that car...better MPG and I honestly prefer Pontiac's handling over Oldsmobile's cruising cushiness. I'd have a mid 90s quad4 Pontiac if they weren't horrendously unreliable (know from experience).

Eh, I like Pontiacs, (had a 99 GA GT for a few weeks before totaling it,) but I prefer the Olds' ride. I hate it when my grocery bags tip over

That's a NICE Olds....almost made me wish I hadn't gotten the 6000 wagon---no visible rust (that I can see) and it looks almost like the 84 Ciera I used to have. But I'll have my '85 Celebrity Eurosport soon so I'm happy.

It seems the prices of a-bodies is slowly going up. In November 07, I purchased an 85 STE for $650.00. The car ran fine, so it is what I drive daily. So, when I see $1,800 being asked for a Celebrity. I thought that was high. I am thinking that it must be a one owner car in excellent condition with no rust or mechanical issues to deal with. What ever, I hope the buyer is very happy with their purchase.
