Rear window support, 3rd brake light

So the rear window and hatch gas struts were weak on my Cruiser. So I got some FCS brand replacements off Rock Auto. They work great mechanically, however there is no electrical continuity between the terminals to run the 3rd brake light. Patching the connectors with a jumper wire makes the light work.

So I’m thinking of a way to get continuity while making it look presentable. This is the car I’m taking to the Minnesota show again. I’m thinking of making a black coiled cord to go over or aside the strut.

Aside from buying another brand and hoping it has electrical continuity, anyone have any ideas?

Might see if you can steal a ground for the hatch glass latch (say that 10 times fast)

Sounded good. I checked it out last night. The hot wire is what passes through the strut, so it won’t work.

Then the black coiled wire is about the only real option.
