Thanks guys. The body ain't pretty, but I didn't buy the car for the body. I needed something dependable, and mechanically she's rock solid.

True enough - and the transmission that's in it has an additional 30K miles on it - I had to swap it when I bought the van and I picked up an Olds Delta 88 with the same drivetrain that had all highway miles on it and pirated it's tranny. It was getting a little uncooperative when it really warmed up in that it wouldn't stay in overdrive, so I just put an aftermarket tranny cooler on it recently and bypassed using the rad's transmission "cooler" provision. Hopefully I'll get a little more life out of it before I have to do something drastic like swap in a Northstar. And yes, I know I would have a heck of a time ever actually fitting a N* in there. I'd be more likely to do the 4.9L install, like what I'm planning for the Ciera - gas mileage be darned!!

get a 3900 GM v6, wireing would be easy, mounting may not be as bad, and size, and compareable power and better mileage.

I'm guessing you're meaning to do a 3900 swap into the van, no? I'd really like to get the torque and V8 growl for the International that can only really be had with a V8. But a 3900 in the van would be a nice project, indeed. I think if I'm going to actually be doing an engine swap on a U-van, however, it will need to wait until I get a Silhouette from down south as I have several areas on my van that will need some welding SOON. The one strut tower is the primary concern for me. Although it doesn't seem to be in danger of coming apart just yet, I don't want to leave it until the last minute.

I'm at 99100 right now in my 86 Celeb, and as we all know that's only a 5-digit odometer so in a month or so, it will read 00000 =D I'll definitely get a video of that when it happens because I've been waiting for it since I bought the car!
