Is it a Multiport 2.8 or a Carb version???
Anyway put Cutlass Ciera in the 'Je cherche' search bar and take a look at the second Ciera!! Thats the site----) www.lespac.com
Im gonna call the guy tomorrow and maybe go take a look at it next friday!!

This is the car he's talking about. Very nice.

    http://www.lespac.com/app/detail.php..._region=&prio=

Asking price is $1,195 CAN which is $1,103.00 USD... I bet you can talk them down a couple hundred dollars due to it being a 1985 and an Oldsmobile.

It has around 108,000km.. That's 67,108 miles. Very low mileage car for a 1985! Has to be senior owned or has been garaged for most of its life. Has got to be. Hey, make sure you check out the heater controls. The panel looks tampered with. Looks like it has electrical tape or paint on it for some reason..

If it runs good, go for it! Good luck...

I have no idea whats on the HVAC controls, but I can say that it is the first non-AC Ciera Ive EVER seen. I honestly thought air conditioning would be standard on an Olds......Nice car though.
As to the engine, hard to tell if it's a fuelie or not. No engine pics!!! The VIN would tell though.....if the 8th digit is an X it carbed....if it is a W it is injected.

Well i just noticed that the car has overdrive if you look at the cluster gauge....
              Maybe has a 1st gen 2.8 Multiport???

I do wonder if it DOES have a/c, but it doesn't work? Some senior citizens are weird with labels and covering up stuff when it gets broken. Or, someone tried to cover it, in an attempt to conceal the fact that the a/c is broken or has been removed entirely from the car? Only way to know for sure is to look under the hood.

Even with older cars that had no air conditioning, you still had the labeling "cool" on the other end opposite hot on the hvac panel. So, I thought it was odd that it doesn't show "cool". I mean, vent is considered 'cool' in the old days.

Otherwise, it looks like a very nice car. I would look very closely at it. Mileage is way low for a 1985. If they have tampered with the HVAC, there is a chance other things may have been tampered with as well. Just check the odometer and ask to look at the title before you buy it. Make sure the mileage matches. I would do a carfax too.

1985...it should have the EFI V6 (MPFI/MULTIPORT) as the Olds was supposed to be below the Buick (or was it above the Buick?) in terms of GM hierarchy

That is a non-AC HVAC control. The picture on the dealers website is much larger. Ive never even actually seen one of those before!

You're right. The pictures at the dealer's site is much better. Looks like that they simply put black duct tape over the vent area as to prevent someone from moving the knob to the vent. The vent door or something must be broken.

For some reason, the ad was moved. So, here's the new link:

Or, go to the dealer for better pictures:

Aw man, major bummer. $600 would have been an awesome buy. At least you have more time to look and find something else.
