    Introduce yourself thread! (56k warning!)

I figured, we started to do something similar on Tuddi's post, why not make an official "this is me, this is my car" thread.

My name is Erik, I live in Metro-ish NY and I own a '84 Chevy Celebrity. I'm 22 years old and I play bass and go to college.

    Pics of me:

Before a show, it looks like I'm bending a 2nd octave D in the pic on my formerly fretless Fender American P-Bass. (I play a 4003 Rickenbacker now...)

    Punk rock eh? :-D

A little history on my car. I picked it up over a year ago from some lady in a neighboring town for $600. (3 weeks of $200 installments, she was amazing for allowing me to do so). My dad owned the same car, and I used his car to create mine, so basically some of the car has been in the family since I was 16-17 years old. *gasp* My father has sort of been MIA in my life after highschool, so I have a strong sentimental value in the car and the work me and my friends put into it.

    You're turn!

        Hi, I'm Jay.

        (hi Jay)

I'm 30, retired but still work part time as a mortician and soon will be going back into the salvage yard game as I miss it and I have owned many A bodies, the last of which was a 1986 Cent t-type sedan.

I now have a 1995 Olds Silhouette which is basically an A body with a sliding door. I have many many plans for it including:

        *modified L67 3800
        *modified 4T65-HD
        *rear sway bar
        *lowering springs
        *4 wheel disc brakes
*heads up display from a 1991-93 Grand Prix

Other than those, it will be mostly stock.

I also have a 1992 Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible and a 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible, both of which are for sale currently.
        Jay

I don't really have any hobbies other than screwing with cars.
I'm lazy and don't feel like listing all of my cars, so for the A-bodies I currently have:

I'm caretaker of my mom's two celebs also, they are:
'89 Celebrity sedan; converted to Eurosport, gray w/gray interior, 2.8/ th125c, turbo mufler, firebird rear spoiler, 16" Z26 wheels, now wrecked in the rear
'86 Celebrity Eurosport sedan known as "Patches"; Originally white, then multi-colored, now bright red; has maroon interior, 2.8FI/ 440t4

Hey I'm Kenny. My grandpa bought Shake n Bake new, and gave it to our family in 2004. I used to drive it all the time when my Supreme was broken (a lot in the past!) These days, my dad drives the car to the train station (about 6 miles a day). The car is just getting some surface rust on the rear wheel well. I thought I fixed it, but all the paint flaked off within a year (damnit!!). I figure one day my dad will want a nicer car and will just give it to me. Then I'll start fixing it up again. It gets waxed once a year at least!

My daily driver is a 1990 Cutlass Supreme.

I'm 20 and go to Oneonta State in New York.

I met up with Don (dcjredline) at Taco Bell and he was pretty cool. The Red STE is a neat car.

Hey. I'm John, I'm 30 and just got married in October. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I don't have my A-Body just yet but will soon and have owned a few in the past. I'm buying an '86 Celebrity Eurosport from a lady who's father owned it before he passed away. It has the 2.8FI motor with 67,000 miles on it and she's selling it to me for $100 bucks. I couldn't pass it up seeing as my current daily driver is an '80 Buick Regal Limited and it's about to die on me haha. The only thing it needs is a little bodywork, inspection and rear brake lines. I'll put up pics when I get it.

Hey folks I'm David, (but you probably guessed that already). I'm 32, work for a Caterpillar dealer in Alabama and have many and varied interests. Most of my hobbies center around cars, electronics, and helping other people learn on both the above! My job now is a dual roll as a trouleshooter and field service techncian; and trainer on AgChem equipment.

I've worked at a local car shop on BMW and Benzes, worked at a dairy, and spent the past 9 years on the road working on heavy equipment all over the southeast.

This is a picture of me (after my first haircut in more than 10 years)...

My a-body cars are (in chronological order)...

                              A 1983 Century, ex-diesel T-Type (wrecked and junked):

A 1986 Century T-Type (clone) turbo intercooled (my primary car):

And recently got a 1984 Century Olympia that is getting a turbo and TBI fuel injection conversion. Most of the mechanical install is done and now it is tuning time. Here is a picture of how she was when I found her:

Also here's my 1972 Nova with EFI 305V8:

I'm always open to off-list e-mails so don't hesitate to e-mail if you have a question I might could answer that is not on topic here. There is more about all my cars and other pictures in my web page. It's linked at my signature below.

Other online lists and forums I read are are 60degreeV6.com, GM-ECM and DIY-EFI.org mailing lists, JYturbo mailing list, rarefwdgmabody list.

Thanks for sharing your pictures! It's really neat to see the faces behind the screen names on here. It seems we're a diverse group yet still have lots in common. I've only been participating a few months but have learned alot and enjoyed it.

Don't be shy, everyone post a little about yourself; and a picure or 2 of you and your cars!
