That is a sweet looking Century. White is no nice!

Hopefully I finally found a good engine for a good price! Somebody is scrapping a '88 Olds 98 and I can get pretty much all I want for €300. The lady will live again!

I repaired the leaky trunk rubber weatherstripping on my '93 century.

Over the last two years, rain water has penetrated the contact area between the trunk lid and the weatherstripping, near the taillights.

I determined the embedded metal U-channel in the rubber was flattened and due to repeated closing of the lid and resting cargo on it.
I pinched the U-channel back together with a smooth faced pliers and shoved the weatherstripping back on the body lip.

The trunk lid takes a little more effort to close, but the no more leaking!!

Today I get infirm upgrading the suspension of our cars... I have new shocks and strut assemblies all the way around. 28mm front sway bar from a U-van. 215/65/r15 performance tires. A deer surprised me while doing 75 down the highway. I missed him by inches and kept the car on the road. (On the freeway I am hyper aware of cars around me in case such occourance would arise) Had I not upgraded, I might have clipped the deer or not been able to recover the quick turn and ended up in the ditch...

Ive seen deer total a car at 55 so who knows what would have happened at the speed I was going... Shame on me, I usually cruise home 65 at night.

Pre 1973, not uncommon to see vehicles traveling around 85-90 mph on interstates.

A vehicle traveling 35 mph can be totaled with a deer hit, btw.

PS: Don't hit a moose at high speed, or even low speed; it may be 'in your face'

Used some mothers pro strength chrome wheel cleaner to scrub all my wire wheel covers down, regular wheel cleaner want doing it. Then ran them through the dishwasher high heat. They're not mirror finish but came out shining.

You know I see people going those speeds every day, even when I'm wicked late, I dont ever really push past 80... And yes, hitting moose is a very dangerous. .. they are uncommon to see but around where I grew up and if you hit one its like hitting a brick wall... a brick wall that can getup pissed you ran into him ... I have seen them charge cars that almost hit them and knew someone who hit one and then got his car pummeled by the angry beast... this was before cell phones, the car was toast before anyone could do anything.

Sidebar - Been there, with sustained speeds around 85-90 mph on interstates before 1973-with mechanically fit vehicle-when speed limits dropped to 55-mph. Only three concerns:

                      1. Daylight only
                      2. Light traffic only
                      3. Tire blow-out...only experienced drivers have a better chance at recovery.

Stuff happens too quickly when a tire blows...and over-reacting is a no, no.

I added the "V-shaped" weatherstripping to the top of the four doors on my '93 Century.
On occasion, water would penetrate the top of the rear door seals while washing the car.
Hopefully, the additional seals will prevent this from happening again.

The weatherstripping came from a '96 four door A-body at the local self-serve bone yard.

Ran the hubcaps through the dishwasher once more then cleaned the wheels and threw them back on.

So it's pretty much settled, Lady Liberty will get an LN3 transplant. Slightly more power and torque, a bit smoother in the low revvs, but most importantly, it runs!

                              I've got the engine!
This 98 Regency Brougham was a rotten out piece of junk, so it's only fair that it gives it good parts to give an A-body a new life.
Apart from the engine, I've also bought the alloy wheels and the trunk rack/spoiler.
