I had meant to check the VIN of this low mileage '92 Century Custom from which I have been getting parts. It has only one ash tray in the back of the front seats, while our Century Special has two. Made me think about this assembly plant more, as the pillar trim is the second thing I've found different as I have replaced plastic parts.
I guess OKC gets a lot of them. My '95 and '96 cars pretty much have perfect fit and finish. I checked on a coupe a few years back and found that those are assembled in Mexico.

I've read that if I trickle charge REAL SLOWLY at say 400 mA, with no more than 12.5v, over say about a week or two, the battery may be recovered to a chargeable state. After a charge, the de-sulfation process can be performed.

I hate when that happens Ken. Been there, done that. LOL

Yes sir Ken . My wife’s grandparents bought her in Brooklyn New youk which it was shipped from tarrytown New York to the dealer . They put 5,000 miles in New York and then moved to Florida where she’s been her whole life

Ok, slow in fixing the car to how I'd like it. Got the new headlight installed and completely replaced the headliner. Now I think the power steering is going bad, hearing a lot of groaning when making turns...so I guess that's my next project. looking at using a https://www.partsgeek.com/d7vwjfc-ch...ad=11620898036 Cardone steering pump and I guess a filter, unless you guys recommend something else?

I forgot to mention that I have a slow leak of anti-freeze and oil. I have to put 1/2 a quart of oil and anti-freeze every two weeks. Going to put that on the back burner until I can find out exactly where it's coming from. So far just small repairs, still loving this car.

You're thinking because of all the other leakage I could also be leaking tranny fluid and that could be causing the rough groaning while turning? I'll give that a try.

edit: nvm that's what you did to your car...should probably do the same.

If the PS fluid is black, try draining and refilling the reservoir a few times. This will good even if you change the pump.
Crank the steering wheel fully right to left 10 times before starting to purge air. Easier with the wheels off the ground.

Got another radio for the '92 a few weeks ago. It is one of the optional radios that used the combination tuner/amplifier in a module GM called the CDM. These modules were used in a number of vehicles (especially with unusual head units and remote cassette or CDs. Figured out how to trigger an auxilary input direct to the CDM and the display switches back to the time without indicating tape.

Even took current measurements for Ken, though I don't think this is the series he asked about.

                          Let's see,what did I do today??

                          1) Black '89 Ciera: Brought a new tire back to Mavis after finding out its egg shaped. I thought going to BFG would bring me more luck than the Cooper Cobras. There aren't many manufacturers choices for a 235-60-14.

                          2) '89 Ciera International: Rear drum warrantee. One is out of round. Advance is ordering me a new drum.

Installed the 'new' stereo in the '92. Aux jack is where the rear defogger switch would be and aux enable switch is where the rear wiper switch would be.

Oh my God, don't even get me started on out of round drums. I can't seem to get a good one brand new out of the box, Advance/Carquest, Autozone. The same crap. 3 out of 3 bad.
