    Tranny cooler12 bolt pan

Im not sure what tranny is in the 88 cruiser. Rockauto was wrong so i had to make the advance trip on change day. I wanted to ask if an aux cooler was something the forum was doing for longgivity and recommendations. Also do you hit the radiator/then to the in and out of the cooler and back to the tranny?

If that gauge cluster pic in your wheels thread is your 88 Cruiser, then you have a 440T4 4 speed auto.

My Cruiser and my old 6000 wagon had the aux cooler. My 90 SE wagon did not, but I installed a good sized one when I started towing with it.

Up here it probably doesn't matter, but in Georgia heat it's probably a good idea.

I'd think it'd be better to go to the trans cooler first so you don't send the additional trans heat directly into your radiator. I'll have to check which order my cooler is hooked up when I get home.

I agree. Down in Georgia, I would absolutely get a tranny cooler. Its pretty easy to do, and in some rare cases, you can even get the factory trans cooler, and mounting brackets. Thats what I did on my old 6000.

I don't know which direction the flow is, but here is how mine are hooked up.

Top trans line goes to bottom port in radiator.

Top port in radiator goes to bottom line of aux trans cooler.

Top line of aux trans cooler goes to bottom trans line.
