Thank you for the rims and it was nice to see what one of these cars are like when done nicely, which is pretty much the opposite of what we are doing

We'll try to make it out there, since it's saturday-sunday hopefully we'll make it at least one of the days. Is there a cover charge to get in or how does that work?

its $20 for one day $30 for the weekend pass.

In preparation for the race the car has already started shedding weight on its own.

This weekend we went out and got a new seat. Not as soft and cushy as the old seat but should support us and keep us in place a bit better in the turns than the split bench would.

We bought a Corbeau FX1 Pro

Our next issue is going to be mounting it. Corbeau makes a bracket for A-bodies, but on their site they say they are only good from 82-86. I kind of doubt they changed how the seat mount to the floor, but I'll have to take the seat out and do some measurements. Even with the measurements though we might have to find another way to mount it since it is going to take the 4-6 weeks to ship the brackets. I'm guessing they have to build them, probably don't sell all that many, especially since they say they only support half the production run for the a-bodies.

Just mount it to the stock tracks. Unless it would ruin them...

We are going to look to see if we can do that today. I don't think it will bolt straight in so we will need to take it apart to figure out what we can do.

We are going to need to make an adapter plate to go between the seat and the stock rails, going to try and make a plywood mock up so we can figure out seat position for the Roll Cage, and then have someone fab us a metal plate.

I don't think the plywood would pass tech.

Since its really for our own good I think we'll avoid the plywood in the final product.

Just heard back from the cage builder. He is busy working on cars for the Transformers Movie for another week, so it will be a little while until we can get it caged to get this sorted out, and get some of the other work done.

I am not really sure how I missed this thread! I have wanted to do a Lemons race since forever ago....would love to come out and watch, but that is a very busy weekend for me. My wife, daughter & mother inlaw were all born that week and all the Bday stuff keeps me pretty busy.

I do have a couple of spare Ciera coupes layin around though.........Hmmmmmmm

There is always next year. It seems like the Midwest races have been getting a lot of people signing up so we should be keeping multiple races a year for a while.

It'd be nice to have a couple more a-bodies out there, plus if we get enough Oldsmobiles we can atleast have a chance to get Oldsmobile a manufacture championship. Of course with ours being stock it might be nice for someone to drop a little something more powerful in the next one.
