    Door Handles?

I just picked up my first U-van last week (1991 Silhouette, 59K actual miles!), and I need to fix the front door handles. The driver's door won't work with either the exterior or interior handles, but it does appear the lock mechanism is functioning properly. The passenger door only opens from the inside, and I can tell something isn't hooked up properly in the lock mechanism.

I've got the driver's door panel off, and there are rods that have fallen off and are riding in the bottom of the door. I've searched here and most of the internet to see if there's a photo of how things are supposed to be arranged inside the door, but I can't find anything. Does anybody have one (or know of one I've missed) so I can get things put together right and see what — if anything — is broken?

i have had the same problems, in fact still do with passenger door (opens from inside, not outside) and side sliding door (opens from outside, not inside)
don't remember what i did with the driver door. pulled the skin, wiggled everything, put it back together.
passenger door i've had fixed once, still same problem. the pushrod or the loop it rests in has apparently bent so the rod pops out of the loop. i've tried bending them back (temporarily worked, but only lasted about a week). i'm thinking of putting a sheet metal nut on the end of the rod to keep it attached.
re the side sliding door, i haven't figured out how to get the door skin off yet. likely same sort of problem.

weather's getting pleasant, it's on my list.

I have only had to fix the passenger side door.. The rod popped out, I don't think it was bent but I think there was a clip or retainer missing... I got it in the right place and used a piece of a heavy duty hanger to make a clip or retainer of sorts... I think that was about 5 years ago.. still works..

There is usually some type of clip like these on the lock rods and door handle rods.
