That's too bad. I found a complete Omega sans the sport front clip with a carbed V6 in San Antonio P-N-P. It would make a great donor for quarters. It is very complete too, even had the junior Super Stock II wheels on it. I found this thread too late to assist someone in saving that car.

On the rust.. My 96 saturn. A piece of plastic. I said its fine. Passed inspection. When i got rid of it. I jumped on the back bumper and it broke off. Because the entire bracket was rotted away. Thats rust problems. My celebrity had rust holes in the door. Replaced that. But being through 2 pa winters its showing some bad surface rust. I already replaced the back bumper. My buddy didnt believe me the chrome was holding it together. Kicked it right in the middle and my foot went through it..

When your foot fits its shot

That was a nice looking car, and rust didn't look too bad especially for a northerner. I would have gladly given $300 if it were local.

Car sold today to some locals. Not sure of its fate. They loaded the extra X11 engine into the front seat??? Anyway, its gone now.

Truth be told if I hadn't started puting mine back together, I'd buy it for that price... the car has such great lines... its always a shame to destroy a running vehicle... simply put in the ad no scrappers, and don't sell for the price of scrap... there are several omegas in the king of the road to fix yours.... and if you must junk it, call them, and it will be a while before they would crush it.

I'd love to have it, but I'd need 'till February (tax money time) to pay for the car, and the fuel to drive up there with my F-150 and tow-dolly it back here to Florida. I'm serious if you don't get a closer, sooner offer. I never hired a transporter so I don't know how much $$ that would be. With my truck & the tow dolly it'd just be my fuel cost. I had an '81 Omega years ago & loved it.
From my earlier post. Can you keep it 'till Feb?

I wish I had somewhere to store and work on the car. I am in Columbus Ohio now, but I don't really have a way to come get it and bring it down here, or anywhere to put it once it's here. Living in a hotel and all whatever I get has to already be able to run and move on its own power.

Thought I would put out one more post on the Omega. I still have it. So far the CL ads have only attracted the scrappers with $250 being the typical bid. At this point I am just ready to get it sold. I would rather not see it end up with a scrapper, so if anyone on here wants it let me know. I would be happy with $300.

I have disassembled the interior to try and begin the 'airing out' process and to get rid of the nasty smell. Easy to just toss the parts back inside and haul it away.

Like I said, I could send you a non-refundable deposit if you are willing to go that route. And I wouldn't be scrapping the car.

Got an offer of $220. Guessing it is from a scrapper. We'll see...

I really would like to get the car but again, I don't know how soon I could get up there after it. I would guess late summer as a worst case scenario, but before then should be doable. Would you be interested in a deposit?

Car posted on CL. Will see if anyone locally might be interested in buying it before making the hard decision to send it off to the scrap yard.

Just double checked the miles - 92k.

I am thinking $250 for the front fascia, or $500 for the whole car including the 2.8LHO.

What offers have you got for scrap so far? I really don't want to see the car get scrapped but at the same time, for me to be able to save the car and get it back on the road again, it has to be affordable. I hate to sound like a cheapskate, but I guess I am, lol.

Also, you'd be surprised how well you can get rid of the stinky interior smell. Pull everything out and clean it, replace the padding on the back of the plastic panels, replace the carpet and headliner and "season" the seats by sitting them out in the garage for several months and then give them a good scrubbing with upholstery cleaner. Oh, and a vanilla air freshener too (one under each seat). Then replace the tires, fuel hoses and fluids, and just have fun driving the car as it is.
