Mmmm...I should only put very least $$ into my '80, my house's plumbing broke down . Hate to do a half- a** job. But , only needs seal, crank turn, possibly rings and honing. . Comp OK when I last checked. When I'm done I'll sell her cheap to a widow with kids. But she will have no mechanical problems. I'll fix the body/interior best I can, too. Move CD player to horizontal so it will work!
Why don't I keep her, you ask? I cant. I need a new car Now to get to class. I can only spend a few hours in the AM in this 99 degree heat. It will take six weeks at that rate to fix and do body and interior.

The 3.1 is a stroker 2.8, so the piston dimensions should be the same. THere is different design changes I believe in the piston shape based on the generation of the engine.

All the sources say they wont cross. 89 mm dia, that's all it sez for 3.1's.

I don't recall if 3.1 pistons are a direct swap or not, but if they are the parts bin is expanded a bit for you.

Pistons?
Anybody know who makes hi swirl hi compression pistons for a 2.8 liter? Need not be forged...I may not have a choice as they might have to be custom.
JE says they do But they have no email to ask them. Poorly designed website--only an order form.
I saw in some hot rod or super chevy mag an advertisement but cant find it now.
