    e36 headlights update

We've got the headlights all put together and we're getting ready to put them on the car. I'll explain a bit and if there are any questions I'll answer them as they come up.

We ended up chopping up a good portion of the fiberglass panel (I say we but my fiance did all the work :\ ) which caused a bit of concern about the stability of the header panel itself (plus we had to mount the headlights in place). So he made up metal brackets fit everything together and was able to utilize the headlight mounting tabs. You can see everything in the pictures...

The only thing left to do is put the header panel back on the car (since it's one piece now we might have to cut a little of the metal off of the car itself, shouldn't be much), and wire the system up (which will involve splicing some of the wires obviously, if anyone has any questions about this I'll have my fiance answer them), and then I'll take more pictures with the header panel actually on my car.

Since I don't want to bog down the site or cause anyone's browsers to crash from picture overload I created a photobucket account specifically for this project and I'll put the link below.

    Thanks for checking it out

    looks good!

I'd rather drive a cobbled together rustbucket Ford than a brand new Chrysler anyday.

Tuddi is right, I'm female... and they took a few days worth of fabrication, but if anyone is really interested in putting a set in their car I can take detailed pictures of the donor header panel we chopped up first and give you the best instructions I possibly can.

Nice work! Just wondering, is there a performance benefit from these headlights?

Actually I think if anything it would have a negative effect on "performance" since they are heavier lol... on the bright side they are fantastic at lighting up the road and shoulder.

                              Thanks again
