    The "Century P-47"

So rust on my Century was really starting to bug me. I have been throwing around ideas on what to do for a couple of years. Full DYI paint job, maco, tractor paint, just primer, rattle can. I had a guy that was going to do it for me, labor free, and I was going to powder coat a set of rims for him. But he quit returning my phone calls. Last fall I settled on pretty much copying dark fox. Most of the rust was on the lower half, but was rust on the upper half also. Then a guy at work (Derek) showed me picture of his brother's old Jetta that he had riveted a whole fender. The idea dawned on me A FIGHTER PLANE THEMED PAINT JOB! So I started to do some research: the shark mouth on the front end would be key, but what to due on the back. I found the P-40 warkhawk in desert camo had a black and yellow checked tail. So tan and brown it would be. I ran idea past Derek and showed him some pictures he responded with "Bad-ass! No problem" Apparently he has spray painted 4 or 5 cars. So memorial day weekend my wife went out of town and spent to weekend spray painting my car (she is still mad to this day). Derek has a friend who does photography for some European car magazines and was trying to coordinate radiate with him to take some pictures and the local airport. Today I gave up (for now) and grabbed my crappy 4.0 mega-pixel camera and took some pictures in the parking lot of said airport for your guys enjoyment. So here is the end result. Not to bad for spray paint.

There more pictures of the paint process at my car domain site

      To JoshB:

I love the way you combined the paint use for the P40 and that of an automobile. I bet you get some nice comments on your car.

        Dude that is badass!

I'd rather drive a cobbled together rustbucket Ford than a brand new Chrysler anyday.

No other comments? I've gotten more comments at the gas station.

Looks good, I actually really like the brown where the black used to be around the windows. Its suttle but a nice touch.

"A-Bomb" can have two different meanings:

                1. Atomic Bomb, which is not related to a P-40

                2. A-Body Vehicle, which might connote a good or bad vehicle.

                  Nicely put.

Could also mean the description you give to an insurance adjuster after your chrysler product catches on fire. (I'm a 3-time victim of that scenario)

I dunno roughly 75% of commentators get it. The others just think is suppose to look like a shark. One guy thought the star on the roof was Capitan America's shield

That's like a comment I once got for my massive Oldsmobile logo on my back windshield. "Is that Chinese or something?" I was speechless.
What is this & what does pulling it out do?

Justifiable homicide. You'd be doing the world a favor.
