    Which wire would it be?

    Trying to hook a killswitch up to the ol 94 ciera through the fuel pump relay and ive tried grn/wht (did nothing on or off), gry (did nothing on or off) and finally the org wire going to the fuel pump fuse itself which worked as it would crank but not start. However having to prime it everytime is less than ideal, also I read that cutting power directly from the fuel pump in this manner can be harmful after time. So before I cut my whole fuel relay to bits I figured I'd check with the good folks here. Am I better off going through the coil system? Thanks in advance!

    P.s. sorry if in wrong forum not sure where else this'd be

    It would be easier to wire in a kill switch to the starter signal wire.

      As in kill switch, do you mean kill it while it’s running? Or just not be able to start it? To kill it while running I’d go through the ignition system.

      If instead of it just doing nothing, if you want to make a thief think it’s just a crappy vehicle that cranks and won’t start… then the fuel pump would be the way to go. As long as you yourself don’t crank it with the switch engaged, and as long as you don’t engage the switch until the car is off, the fuel pump should not lose it’s prime. To give a thief the crappy vehicle image, I wouldn’t go through the ignition, as you’ll flood the engine and eventually get gas in the oil.

        As in crank but not fire. My 94 has 0 security and the part of town I'm in is where all the tweakers like to congregate and take a break from walking the alleys and throwing each other's things on the roof of the hotel next door or fall asleep on the sidewalk. Ya know tweaker things. Having just fixed my windows its only a matter of time before I get off a long day of work and accidentally leave one open just enough and POOF my cars gone.

          Theres a problem with using the fuel pump. GM put a backup fuel activation switch in via the oil pressure sending unit... You would have to literally install it in a place to kill all power to the fuel pump.

          I would do a starter signal wire kill switch. No crank, no nothing.

            Want something simple ….. I did this in the fuse box is the icm fuse splice in a small toggle switch behind the fuse box so no one sees and run it to a hiding spot . Or for a few bucks pick up a few 20 amp fuses in Case u lose them . Pull the fuse at night . Car will crank but won’t start simplified anti theft . The will smash the column and try and hot wire or jab a screw driver to the ignition before they think in the fuse box

              THAT explains why I've been unable to get the right wire. I thought I was right at first with grn/wht. I was surprised when it did nothing. And I knew about the backup too! I had to change the oil pressure sender when I got the car due to a no start and a leak from it. Didn't know how connected the 2 were. That's actually how I stumbled across this forum way back in November! Thank you for the info!

                That's the winner I'm thinking. I did this very thing in my chrysler for the fan because it got stuck on high and the part was like $40 on ebay or $160 from rock auto after it blew a ebay one and junkyard one came up with a better solution haha. Awesome idea thank you much!

                  Very welcome I pull the fuse at night when I go away and toss it in my wallet . If I forget to do that I flip the toggle switch . Toggle switches wear out eventually . so if you get smart and hide it right u can flip the switch I put mine near the passenger kick panel so my wires were not so long but where the passenger light on the floor board shines

                    It works like a charm. I ran mine behind the ash tray and above and behind the petals (so as not to get caught on the brakes, gas etc.) And into the molding along the door, and put the switch in that little spot below the seat back adjuster. It's a very well hidden spot that required a little bit of altercation such as drilling the little piece of black plastic and clipping small spots in the plastic for the wires to run and still have everything snap into place. Turned out very well and was a relatively quick project I recommend to those without a alarm system.
