Hobby car that needs some TLC. Starter motor almost died. Most luxurious trim of the Cutlass Ciera with 3.8 V6, 4 speed automatic transmission, leather seats, power seat driver, rally gauge cluster, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, ac, radio-cassette player. Reliable and cheap car, millions of A-bodies sold from 1982-1996. Unibody front wheel drive but with the old school American feel. Good mileage: 9,7l/100km over the past 16.000 km.
Car imported from the USA in 1994 and the stayed more than 20 years at previous owner. I bought the car two years ago and drove about 16k km. I replaced the following parts: muffler, thermostat, battery, engine strut, crankshaft pulley, serpentine belt, tensioner pulley, oil pressure sensor, spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, wiper blades.
As said stater motor needs to be replaced/repaired, also AC compressor and power antenna don't work. Bottom front doors rusted and needs attention/repair. Window sweeps dried out.
Car has original paint but has been polished wrongly by previous owner.
For it's age a decent car. Make me an offer.
FWIW, if valve stem seals are replaced, this will reduce some oil consumption. Being a 1988, those seals would be "hard" and cracking by now. When intake valve opens, tiny amounts of oil will be sucked in piston's chamber.
