    Default 1994 Buick century Speedo question

    My 1994 Buick century wagon sweeps across the dash. 0 to 85
    But I've seen same year with a different kind of speedo 0 to 125 I think.
    Why two different types of speedometer?

    I saw a lot of 94s with the 2.2 4 cylinder get that 85mph speedcluster and only a few 3.1 with a 85 mpg in 94 . So not sure why unless gm had a huge inventory of them left over from previous years . 8 have the 95 Buick century that has the huge sweep dial speedometer to 110 . Gm has the limited edition might have been the 110 option cluster

    It's possible that their was a Police Duty RPO for the car. Very rare, it there were. Keith's right, the last a-body cars were beneficiaries of the 110 speedo. All electronic though. David Allen did a 125 mph modification, but it's all electronic and some assembly is required. There's right up around her somewhere.

    All the Century cars have the same basic dash; you only need to worry about pinouts and cable/no-cable setup.

    I had posted one of the unique, '94 only some time ago from a 4 cylinder car (why this is so common a combo in '94, I don't know), but the PB debacle has lost it. Here is another from a V6 car with the unique, arced speedometer, unlike the '82 - '93 style. I've seen these listed for '94s as 'with voltmeter' as the '94 - '96 cluster does not have one.

    Older style from a loaded car;

    Jerry,

    We just can't have it call can we? I suppose 85 mph is amost good enough for me, but I've been known to hit "warp 9" on occasion.

    I don't think I ever sprung for the speed rated tires. Doesn't the governor kick in before 110? ....or can we fly with the Corvettes?
