Hubcap locks for 1985 5x115 Cutlass Ciera

Sorry to bother you with this dumb question. I've seen a lot of hubcap locks on ebay, but what part number is actually right for my wheels? I have original 1985 5x115 wheels and original 1985 Oldsmobile simulated wire wheel hubcaps. I just don't want to use them without locks.

I dont think so, but your locks are completely missing. There is supposed to be a retaining ring that holds the lock in place on the hubcab when its off the car. Most people would cut off the retaining ring, and take the lock off. Otherwise they made a lot of noise just driving down the road without the lock being engaged on its carrier.

I see some of those caps at pull a part. Usually missing the front but if the cap is there i can look for the mechanism. Is the mechanism attached by rivet or a method that requires cutting? I have those caps on my 1988 cruiser. Is the mechanism the same throughtout certain years on the rear of thecwire caps?

Its attached to the cap by a locking ring, like a C-Clip on the underside of the cap. The problem you run into is making sure all the locks take the same key, and that you have that key.

Correct, or buy caps with the locks and key. Than its just a matter of getting the piece that sits on the rim for the lock to engage upon (carrier).
